Buzz gave great hugs. Of this, Jessie was sure. You wouldn't think that, of course - him being made of plastic and all - but he did. Maybe it was the way he was shaped. Or maybe it was the fact that she herself was made of cloth, making the two different materials mesh together in a perfect sort of way.
And it wasn't just how he hugged, but when he did so. How he knew the exact moment to show up when Jessie was having a bad day, she didn't know. Maybe he was stalking her. Or maybe he had an intuition that went off the second someone around him was feeling less than okay.
Whatever the case, he was always there - just before Jessie felt as though she'd fall apart - hugging her close enough to keep her together.
And it was his hugs alone that had the power to do that. The power to put everything in perspective; literally turning Jessie's frown upside down. A single hug from Buzz accomplished more than a long talk into the night.
It was interesting because Jessie knew that, for the most part, Buzz wasn't a very touchy guy. The cowgirl took notice early on that with his other friends, his physical interaction went no further than a friendly handshake.
But with her, it was different. There were no boundaries when she was around. Whether she was up on the windowsill, mourning over Emily; or in a far corner of the toy box, willing for sleep to find her - you could be sure Buzz was not far away, putting all his nervousness aside and consoling Jessie in any way he could; finishing with his infamous hug.
In fact, it was under that speculation that made Buzz's hugs all the more special. And as years past, Jessie soon came to realize that this particular gesture – this powerful embrace that seemed to melt all her problems into puddles, time and time again - wasn't actually Buzz's hug at all.
It was Jessie's hug, made and meant for only her.

Don't Cry
Buzz had not seen Jessie all day, but knowing she had been at a sleepover the previous night with Bonnie, he was not terribly worried. He assumed she was hiding away, getting the sleep that most likely had not been possible while surrounded by several little girls full of sugary snacks and drinks. It was late afternoon, though, and he thought he would check on his cowgirl. "Anyone home?" he poked his head into the backpack Bonnie had taken with her. His brow furrowed in confusion as he found it filled with clothes, but no sign of Jessie.
"Hey, Mister Buzz!" He removed his head from the b

I Promise
Angry voices spilled from the living room and through the house. Buzz was fresh from a mission and Jessie had picked him up at the base. The drive home had been made in a stony silence, and Buzz knew why. His latest mission had taken a bad turn and, in an effort to apprehend a known war criminal, Buzz had taken a somewhat reckless course of action. He narrowly avoided being seriously wounded; as it was, he still suffered broken ribs and a dislocated shoulder. He was more than grateful for the advanced medical technology Star Command possessed; it meant a recovery time of a few days as opposed to weeks. Jessie had been less than pleased

Vanquished
Buzz woke in the dark room, the glow from his spacesuit softly illuminating the figure before him. He was curled up against Jessie's back with his arm around her waist. All of the toys had been enjoying a rare night of freedom while the house was empty. Buzz and Jessie stole away to the bedroom of Bonnie's parents and had snuggled together on the bed while watching TV. She had fallen asleep with her head on his chest, but Buzz could not remember how long he remained awake. He smiled softly as he thought of the course of time that led up to that moment.

Didn't like the lack of Buzz/Jessie I had on here, so I decided to post this story. I originally posted this on Fanfiction, so if it sounds familiar, that's probably because it is, lol.
I got the idea for this story after I asked the question, "Do you think Buzz Lightyear gives good hugs?", to all my followers on Formspring. The question was meant to be funny, but after several people answered with no and blamed it on his clunky plastic suit, I took it upon myself to write a short drabble about Jessie actually liking Buzz's hugs. 'Cuz that's what I do, lol.
Feel free to read the answers or answer the question yourself here: [link]
